What Is ThetaHealing? How This Energy Healing Modality Supports Inner Child Work and Emotional Release

Exploring the Healing Modalities of Our Retreat

When women come together in a sacred healing container, something powerful happens.

The nervous system softens. The heart begins to open. Old stories rise to the surface, not to punish us, but to be witnessed, understood, and released.

At Ashes to Ascension Hypnotherapy, our upcoming women’s retreat, Heal the Inner Child, Reclaim the Woman, is designed to support deep emotional healing through a blend of powerful, nurturing, and soul-aligned modalities.

Over the next few blogs, we’ll be sharing more about the healing experiences offered during the retreat, what they are, how they may support you, and why they were intentionally chosen for this intimate 6-day, 5-night container in Black Mountain, North Carolina.

Some of the modalities and experiences we’ll be exploring include:

✨ Hypnotherapy

✨ ThetaHealing

✨ Reiki

✨ Massage

✨ Somatic movement

✨ Sound baths

✨ Cacao, tea, and release ceremonies

✨ Inner-child-centered joy and play

✨ Morning yoga

✨ Waterfall and nature-based integration

Each modality serves a different purpose, but together they create a supportive rhythm: deep release, nervous system restoration, emotional integration, and reconnection with the woman you are becoming.

Today, we’re beginning with one of the beautiful energy-based healing modalities offered at the retreat: ThetaHealing.

What Is ThetaHealing?

ThetaHealing is a spiritual and energy-based healing modality designed to help identify and shift limiting beliefs, emotional patterns, and subconscious blocks that may be affecting your life.

The name “ThetaHealing” comes from the theta brainwave state, a deeply relaxed state often associated with meditation, intuition, creativity, and subconscious access.

In simple terms, ThetaHealing works with the idea that many of our beliefs are stored beneath the surface. Some of these beliefs may have been formed in childhood, through family patterns, emotional wounds, past experiences, or even generational conditioning.

These beliefs may sound like:

“I’m not enough.” “I’m not safe.” “I have to do everything alone.” “Love always hurts.”“I can’t trust myself.” “I don’t deserve to receive.” “If I relax, everything will fall apart.”

Even when we consciously want something different, subconscious beliefs can quietly keep us repeating the same patterns.

ThetaHealing is intended to help bring those hidden beliefs into awareness so they can be released and replaced with beliefs that feel more supportive, aligned, and empowering.

How ThetaHealing May Support Inner Child Healing

At our retreat, the focus is not surface-level relaxation. This retreat is about going deeper gently, intentionally, and with support.

ThetaHealing can be especially powerful for inner-child work because many of our adult patterns are connected to younger parts of ourselves.

The part of you that learned to stay quiet. The part of you that felt unseen. The part of you that became the caretaker. The part of you that learned love had to be earned. The part of you that still wonders if it is safe to be fully yourself.

ThetaHealing may help uncover the beliefs that those younger parts still carry, while creating space for compassion, release, and new emotional truth.

It is not about blaming the past. It is not about forcing forgiveness. It is not about pretending everything was okay.

It is about creating a safe space to ask:

“What am I still carrying?” “What belief did I form from that experience? ”Is that belief still serving me?” What would feel more true, loving, and freeing now?”

Why We Chose ThetaHealing for This Retreat

ThetaHealing was chosen for this retreat because it beautifully complements the deeper work of hypnotherapy, Reiki, somatic movement, massage, sound baths, and ceremony.

Where hypnotherapy may help access the subconscious mind, ThetaHealing offers an intuitive and energetic pathway for identifying and shifting beliefs.

Where massage and Reiki help calm and support the body, ThetaHealing may help bring awareness to the emotional and energetic patterns the body has been holding.

Where ceremony creates symbolic release, ThetaHealing can help clarify what is ready to be released.

Together, these modalities create a layered healing experience that encompasses mind, body, energy, emotion, and spirit.

What You Might Experience During a ThetaHealing Session

Every session is different, but many people describe ThetaHealing as peaceful, emotional, clarifying, or deeply validating.

During a session, you may be guided into a relaxed state while the practitioner supports you in exploring beliefs, emotions, or patterns that are ready to be seen.

Some people feel warmth, tingling, lightness, emotion, calm, or sudden understanding. Others may simply feel deeply relaxed or reflective afterward.

There is no “right” way to experience it.

Your healing does not have to look dramatic to be real. Your release does not have to be loud to be powerful. Your breakthrough does not have to be explained perfectly to matter.

Sometimes healing feels like tears. Sometimes it feels like peace. Sometimes it feels like finally realizing, “That was never mine to carry.”

A Gentle Invitation

If you are feeling called to this retreat, it may be because some part of you is ready to soften, release, remember, and rise.

Heal the Inner Child, Reclaim the Woman is a women-only healing retreat taking place June 18–23, 2026, in Black Mountain, North Carolina, near Asheville.

This intimate retreat is limited to only 8 women and includes hypnotherapy, ThetaHealing, Reiki, massage, somatic movement, sound baths, ceremonies, nourishing meals, private rooms, nature excursions, and inner-child-centered experiences designed to help you reconnect with joy, safety, softness, and personal power.

You do not have to have it all figured out to begin healing.

Sometimes the first step is simply saying:

“I am ready to meet the version of me who no longer has to carry all of this alone.”
